Listing plants and items

Plant for scale

How to take good photos of my plants?

Use natural daylight, photograph from multiple angles (whole plant, close-up of leaves/flowers, and the pot/roots if possible), maybe include something for scale. Avoid heavy filters – it’s best to see the true condition.

What should I include in my description?

Be honest and specific: plant name, age/size, health, pot size and material and care needs. Mention if it's been recently repotted, fed, or treated for pests. For general items like a chair or lawnmower: list the brand/build if relevant, age, condition, any great features you think will increase its attractiveness! Knowing when your hedge trimmer was last watered may not be so useful…

How do I price my plants fairly?

Where possible, check similar listings on Preplanted for comparable size and condition. Factor in pot cost, time grown, and rarity. Cuttings and seedlings should be priced lower than established plants for example.

Are there any plants I shouldn't sell?

Don't list invasive or banned species (check your local government's prohibited plant list) and avoid selling plants that show signs of disease or pest infestation.
